Biography:
Born in 1936, I was raised and still reside in south Louisiana “Cajun Country”. I live alone as my darling Gayle, wife of 48 years passed away in 2005. We have five children and I am blessed to have four of them living close by. After returning from the Army in 1957, and trade school, I worked mostly as an estimator/draftsman in the contract glazing business. I started making duck calls in 1989. As a hunter I just thought it would be added pleasure to work ducks with a call I had made myself. I knew no callmaker in my area so I had no mentor as such. Using a hand drill, wood rasp and a pocket knife, I worked at it until I could make a pretty fair working call. Today, with better tools, using no outsourced finished parts, my calls are still totally handmade from blocks of wood and sheets of mylar. After all these years, sound and working qualities remain my absolute main focus. Hopefully those features have improved since my humble beginnings.
