Biography:
I was born in 1963 in Jena, LA. I grew up duck hunting on Catahula Lake. I now live in Dubach, LA. with my wife Donna. I made my first call in 1997 under the guidence of my dad, Leland Bignar. I made several calls over the next few years mostly as gifts for friends and family. I stopped making calls for abut three years and started again in 2005. I make decorative calls but try to make the sound quality good enough for the field. The majority of calls I make are in the Arkansas style with a mylar reed. Although I have made a few Reelfoot style with a metal reed. After my dad died I was influenced by Sonny Bignar and James Yule. Later I met others who became a great inspiration and are very helpful with advice, Doyle Breland and Albert Thibodeaux to name a couple. Actually, anyone who has made a call has an influence on me along with my respect.
